Met ‘Starburster’ nog genoteerd in de top tien van de Hitzound 40, lanceert Fontaines D.C. vandaag de opvolger! De nieuwe singel van het Ierse vijftal heet ‘Favourite’. Beide songs prijken op het aankomende vierde album ‘Romance’. Fontaines D.C. sleepte het afgelopen jaar een BRIT Award binnen voor International Group of the Year 2023. Bassist Conor Deegan verklaart de titel ‘Romance’ zo: “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and Romance. Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as Dogrel. The second album is about that detachment, and the third is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about”. ‘Romance’ verschijnt op 23 augustus.
